optical transmission section (OTH) (OTS)

The Optical Transmission Section (OTS) is the optical transmission section between two optical regenerators or between an optical multiplexer( OMUX) and a regenerator in the Optical Transport Hierarchy( OTH).

All OTS sections together form the Optical Multiplex Section( OMS), comparable to the Multiplex Section( MS) in the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy( SDH).
