optical fiber termination point
Fiber optic termination points(GF-AP) are the end points of optical access networks. It is the end of the outdoor fiber optic cable that connects the fiber termination point with the access node and the broadcast network gateway (BNG).
In the in-house area, the fiber-optic termination point is connected to the fiber-optic building distributor(GF-GV), via which the individual floors of the building and the apartments are connected. This connection can be equipped with a switching function via which the network operator can connect and disconnect the apartment connections. Depending on the network level and network structure, the optical fibers are routed to the apartments or rooms in a star configuration.
