Operational Intelligence (OI) is an approach with which data is analyzed in real time
and business decisions are made. Operational Intelligence analyzes information flows and event data and integrates them directly into the system flow.
The data analysis makes the business processes transparent and gives the employees concerned an immediate insight into the business activity. Employees who are in contact with customers can use the OI information directly and dedicatedly, react to customer inquiries and make appropriate decisions. This applies especially to employees in field service, call centers, goods distribution, logistics and online marketing. Operational intelligence has evolved from business intelligence (BI).
