open security exchange (OSE)

The Open Security Exchange (OSE) is an organization founded by Computer Associates, Gemplus, HID-Corporation, and Tyco Software to address security managementinteroperability and develop related specifications.

Recommendations on technical interoperability and other specifications developed by the OSE are produced for standards bodies such as IEEE-ISTO. In addition, the OSE organization develops white papers that provide practical solutions for security professionals.

One of the first specifications produced by the Open Security Exchange was aimed at the interoperability of physical security and security in cyber technologies. Thus, the Physical Security Bridge to IT Security( PHYSBITS) developed by the Open Security Exchange is a vendor-neutral approach that supports collaboration between physical security and IT security.
