open cloud computing interface (OCCI)

The Open Cloud Computing Interface (OCCI) activities include the specifications for the application programming interface( API) for remote management of cloud computing. The OCCI interface can be used to develop interoperable programs for common tasks such as provisioning, autonomous scaling, and application monitoring.

The goal of OCCI activities, driven by the Open Cloud Computing Interface Working Group (OCCI- WG), is to provide specifications for high-tier functionalities such as those required by virtual machine( VM) and virtualization technologies.

The Open Cloud Computing Interface Working Group developed program interface for cloud computing is intended to cover Infrastructure as a Service( IaaS), Platform as a Service( PaaS) and Software as a Service( SaaS), with all of the aforementioned concepts supporting on-demand services of computing power.
