open alliance broadR reach (automotive) (OABR)

Open Alliance BroadR Reach (OABR) is a physical transmission layer technology used in automotive Ethernet.

This technology was developed by Broadcaom and corresponds to Fast Ethernet according to 100Base- T1 with 100 Mbit/s, but uses only one line with a twisted pair of wires as the physical transmission medium. The technology is called One-Pair Ethernet( OPEN) and the TP cable is an Unshielded Twisted Single Pair( UTSP). The UTSP cable meets the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility( EMC) at transmission rates of 100 Mbps.

As coding, OPEN works with 4B3Tcoding, 3B2T coding and a ternary pulse amplitude modulation PAM3.
