open access

Open Access(OA) are guidelines under which scientific works can be published and used by third parties.

Scientific literature published under OA can be used without restriction and free of charge. The copyrights remain untouched, but the rights of use are regulated in various forms and relate to reading the documents, downloading them from the Internet, saving, modifying and reusing them, and printing them out.

Depending on the use, a distinction is made between Golden Open Access and Green Open Access. Golden Open Access involves publications in a digital open access journal, whereby the published articles are published directly on the publisher's website.

In the case of Green Open Access, the authors publish their scientific works in some specialist journal, for example a paid-for journal, and deposit a version in a central archive or on their own or an Open Access website.
