OBEX protocols for connecting applications in Bluetooth

The OBEX protocol, originally developed for the Infrared Data Association( IrDA), has established itself as the standard protocol in infrared LANs and Bluetooth. It can work with predefined standard objects and support a wide variety of applications. These include digital photography, video and audio data, administrative applications, and more.

The OBEX session protocol specifies the communication structure and the overlying OBEX application framework provides the application interface. OBEX provides an extensive communication control layer for the exchange of complex objects.
