Programs in Non-Procedural Language (NPL) are not written in traditional program notation with individual programming steps, but they define the input conditions and the expected result.

The NPL programming language is also called declarative programming. The program itself searches for a suitable solution path using various algorithms.

Non- procedural programming is used, among other things, in query languages, interactive database programs, spreadsheets and application generation.
