noise reduction coefficient (sound) (NRC)

The Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) is the arithmetic mean of the sound absorption coefficient.

The KNRC coefficient is about the ability of absorption for acoustic sound. How much sound can an acoustic product, such as a concert, absorb? The value of the absorption coefficient is related to the absorber material used in the acoustic space.

The value for the noise reduction coefficient is given in the 1/3 octave bands of 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz and 2,000 Hz.
