network element layer (LAN) (NEL)
The Network Element Layer (NEL) is a logical layer of Fault, Configuration, Account, Performance, and Security( FCAPS) in Telecommunications Control Networks( TMN).
The NEL layer bids the abstraction of functions related to the technology, provider, and network resources or network elements that support general communications services.
The Network Element Layer designation occurs in the Telecommunications Control Network (TMN) and also in local area networks. It involves the subdivision of complex models into individual functions. The function of the Network Element Layer is to manage certain network element groups, correlate their data and analyze them.
