network control center (NCC)
The term Network Control Center(NCC) implies that a control functionality is performed with this facility. However, the term is used more broadly, including network management centers( NMC) and network operations centers( NOC).
In general, data networks require a control facility independent of the network components for smooth operation: a network control center. The task of the network control center is to ensure the availability of the network components and network connections. In the event of a network component failure or overload, the network control center ensures that the network is quickly replaced or reconfigured. The range of equipment extends from simple interface testers, intelligent monitor systems and hardware monitors to complex network management systems with integrated statistics, monitoring, alarm and reconfiguration functions.
