netflow

Netflow is a proprietary method developed by Cisco for monitoring traffic in networks. With Netflow, Cisco routers and switches analyze the transmitted traffic flows. The IP headers are decoded and the individual characteristics of the traffic flows are stored in tables. These are periodically transmitted to the network management system and evaluated by it.
