Negation is the third basic principle of Boolean algebra besides conjunction and disjunction. Coupling elements can be formed via negation.
The negation is realized by a NOT gate. Each dual output value corresponds to the negated input value. If the level at the input is "1", then the negation at the output is "0", and vice versa. The output of a negation logic always has the opposite state of the input.
