National Electrical Manufacturer Association (NEMA) is a standards organization that publishes standards. In the field of cabling, among other things, NEMA is concerned with the protection of persons against accidental contact with cabling equipment such as distribution cabinets.

NEMA classifies equipment into different protection classes and recommends their uses.

In addition, NEMA, which has been in existence since 1926, is active in the healthcare sector and, in collaboration with the American College of Radiology( ACR), has developed the multi-vendor standard for the exchange of radiological and medical imagesDigital Imaging and Communication in Medicine( DICOM).
