multiple MAC registration protocol (MMRP)

The Multiple MACRegistrationProtocol (MMRP) was specified by IEEE 802.1ak in 2007. It is a Multiple Registration Protocol ( MRP) that is based on the link layer and registers group MAC addresses, e.g. for multicast on several switches. The Multiple MAC Registration Protocol replaces the GARP Multicast Registration Protocol ( GMRP) described in 802.1D.
