multiple MAC registration protocol (MMRP)

The Multiple MAC RegistrationProtocol (MMRP) was specified by IEEE 802.1ak in 2007. It is a Multiple Registration Protocol (MRP) that is based on the link layer and registers group MAC addresses, e.g. for multicast on several switches. The Multiple MAC Registration Protocol replaces the GARP Multicast Registration Protocol (GMRP) described in 802.1D.
