multimedia perception assessment center (speech quality) (MPAC)

Multimedia Perception Assessment Center (MPAC) is a speech quality assessment method developed by Lucent, similar to Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality( PESQ).

In the MPAC procedure, speech samples are evaluated at various packet loss rates. In addition, it also involves the evaluation of speech quality in the event of the loss of several consecutive data packets, data bursts. Since these disturbances cannot be compensated on the receiving side, they have a direct impact on the speech quality. If it is only the loss of individual data packets, these losses are compensated for by the auditory system.

In the MPAC assessment, the Mean Opinion Score( MOS) and the PESQ value are averaged before calculation.
