Multimedia interfaces are used in the home and in automotive technology, where they support infotainment.
In automotive technology, there is a comprehensive range of infotainment services that can be used in different ways by the driver and passengers. Services offered in this environment include entertainment services - radio, television, CD or DVD player- , information services - navigation, traffic information, Internet - , communication services - telephone, e-mail, Bluetooth - and control services - vehicle functions, driver information. These and other services can be selected via the Multimedia Interface and routed to the appropriate amplifiers and displays.
