multilink maximum received reconstruction unit (MRRU)

Multilink Maximum Received Reconstruction Unit (MRRU) is a parameter that is negotiated between two remote stations during multilink. The point is that in Ethernet transmissions using Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet( PPPoE), the data packets are fragmented and the fragments may be sent simultaneously over the multilink lines. The MRRU defines the maximum size of the data packet that is assembled from the fragments. The MRRU is always larger than the Maximum Receive Unit( MRU).
