multilink (ML)

Multilink (ML) stands for multiple connection. The term multilink is used when data transmission takes place via two or more connections or lines, and also in the context of channel bundling.

Multilink techniques exist in all networks. For example, in ISDN and the classic telephone networkPOTS (Plain Old TelephoneService), in DSL technologies and as multilink PPP protocol (ML-PPP) in which the connections are combined on the data link layer.
