In ATM networks, the MulticastAddress ResolutionServer (MARS) is a service for resolving multicast IP addresses of the clients that belong to a multicast group. MARS serves a cluster of nodes, where each account of the cluster is configured with the ATM address of
MARS. MARS supports multicasting over point-to-multipoint links or over multicast servers. Multicast Address Resolution Service (MARS) is described in RFC 1755.
