multicast address resolution server (MARS)
InATM networks, the Multicast Address Resolution Server (MARS) is a service for resolving multicast IP addresses of the clients that belong to a multicast group. MARS serves a cluster of nodes, with each account in the cluster configured with the ATM address of MARS. MARS supports multicasting over point-to-multipoint links or over multicast servers.
Multicast Address Resolution Service (MARS) is described in RFC 1755.
