multi stream aggregation (MSA)

Multi Stream Aggregation (MSA) is a carrier aggregation specified by the Third Generation Partnership Project( 3GPP) and used to increase data rates in mobile networks between UMTS, Long Term Evolution( LTE) and LTE-A.

In the future, multi-stream aggregation (MSA) is also expected to be used for other mobile networks specified by other standardization organizations, such as WLANs based on 802.11. Carrier aggregation between different telecommunications standards is expected for the 5th generation( 5G) networks after 2020.
