mobility as a service (MaaS)

Mobility as a Service

(MaaS) is an innovative mobility concept for passenger transport. In the MaaS concept, a wide variety of means of transport and services are combined with each other. The aim is to transport people flexibly, quickly and cost-effectively from one place to another. All public and privately used means of transport are integrated into the MaaS or eMaaS mobility concept. Publicly used means of transport include trains, buses, trams and underground trains, while privately used means of transport include motor vehicles, electric vehicles

, bicycles, e-bikes, e-scooters and various others. In recent years, interesting mobility services concepts and sharing concepts have emerged, where the user uses the transport mode alone or shares it with other users, for environmental, cost and usage reasons. To promote the use of electric vehicles, other eMaaS electric mobility concepts have been developed such as e-car sharing, e-scooter sharing and others. One of the main goals of Electric Mobility as a Service (eMaaS) is to be environmentally friendly. The basis for the eMaaS concept is Mobility as a Service (MaaS), in which the most important mobility features are anchored: Multi-modal, user-oriented, available on-demand and data-driven.
