Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is an innovative mobility concept for passenger transportation. In the MaaS concept, a wide variety of means of transport and services are combined. The aim is to get people from one place to another flexibly, quickly and cost-effectively.
The MaaS or eMaaS mobility concept integrates all means of public and private transportation. Publicly used means of transport include trains, buses, streetcars and subways, while privately used means of transport include motor vehicles, electric vehicles, bicycles, e-bikes, e-scooters and various others.
In recent years, interesting mobility services concepts and sharing concepts have emerged, where the user uses the means of transport alone or shares it with other users, for environmental, cost and usage reasons. To promote the use of electric vehicles, other eMaaS electric mobility concepts have been developed such as e-car sharing, e-scooter sharing, and others. One of the main goals of Electric Mobility as a Service (eMaaS) is to be environmentally friendly. The basis for the eMaaS concept is Mobility as a Service (MaaS), in which the most important mobility features are anchored: Multi-modal, user-centric, available on-demand, and data-driven.
