mini MT connector
The Mini-MT connector was presented to the IEEE committees in March 1997 as part of the discussion about new FO connectors for Gigabit Ethernet.
The Mini-MT is a duplex connector which, like the Galaxy connector, is an alternative to the duplex SC connector.
The Mini-MT connector can be used for monomode fibers and multimode fibers, it has two rectangular ferrules and is comparable in size to the RJ45 connector. Thanks to this compactness, it is possible to equip 19" front panels with up to 24 ports across the width.
