MicrowavePower Transmission (MPT) is the radio transmission
of power via microwaves. The concept of microwave power transmission over long distances is intended to supply independent flying objects such as drones and also satellites
withenergy so that they can fly uninterrupted missions or, in the case of satellites, orbit the earth
. In microwave power transmission, a microwave transmitter must generate sufficient energy which can then be transmitted to the receiving object in a highly focused manner.
Klystrons, magnetrons and travelling wave tubes are available for generating high transmission powers in the microwave range, and phased array antennas are available for radiating the transmission power, with which a strong bundling of the radio beam is achieved.
