microserver
Micro servers are small servers with several slots and their own operating system. In the larger version, microservers have one or two central processing units, hard disk drives, Ethernet and USB interfaces, their own chassis and power supply.
Smaller micro-servers can be server-on-modules or system-on-chips( SoC). Unlike traditional servers used in data centers, microservers have less computing power and storage capacity. Alone or combined in clusters, they can be used as appliances for simple computer applications and temporary tasks.
They are designed for business and web applications, as mail and messaging servers or for security applications. Their power consumption is far below 100 W, that of their boards below 40 W.
