Microphone spiders are impact sound- proof, elastic suspensions for microphones. They consist of a suspension ring padded with soft material and held in place by rubber bands in the center of the microphone spider.
The microphone is inserted into the suspension ring and is spring-loaded by the rubber suspension. This type of microphone suspension means that no vibration, structure-borne noise or impact sound is transmitted to the microphone.
Microphone spiders are used with studio microphones.
