micro controller unit (MCU)

Microcontrollers(MCU) are powerful programmable computer systems for solving special tasks. They are equipped with a microprocessor, fixed-value and main memory, interfaces for peripheral devices, timers, A/D converters and D/A converters and other functional units, with all components integrated on one chip.

Equipped with appropriate interfaces and optimized for special functions, microcontrollers are used in control and regulation technology, consumer, communications and household electronics, image processing, motor vehicles and on chip cards, where they operate as emdedded systems.

Microcontrollers operate in a system of their own, requesting measured values, acquiring data and performing simple processing tasks. The possibilities for data processing and data transmission are limited and usually do not have direct operating and programming interfaces.
