media management protocol (MMP)

The Media Management Protocol (MMP) is a protocol standardized by IEEE under the designation 1244.3.

The Media Management Protocol (MMP) is used by clients to allocate, apportion, determine quantities, and administer the Media Management System( MMS). MMP includes access restrictions in the form of levels so that a client application cannot perform administrative functions or perform higher management functions through the operator console.
