maximum cell loss ratio (ATM) (MCLR)

The Maximum Cell Loss Ratio (MCLR) is a performance parameter in ATM networks.

The Maximum Cell Loss Ratio (MCLR) is the ratio of the maximum number of ATM cells not transmitted over a link or node to the total number of ATM cells received.

The Maximum Cell Loss Ratio uses PNNI Topology State Packet( PTSP) to determine the available resources of an ATM network. The MCLR parameter is applied to Constant Bit Rate( CBR) and Variable Bit Rate( VBR) ATM cells where the Cell Loss Priority(CLP) is set to zero.
