Malvertisement is a neologism of Malicious Advertisement. This type of advertisement can be used to infect the computer of the user who views the advertisement with malware.

Malvertisements are used for building botnets for organized crime with which identity theft, spying on corporate data or other criminal activities are carried out. Usually, malvertisements occur in the form of legitimate online advertisements, but they are infected with robots. These attacks are carried out via the banner ads of trust-inspiring websites. Once they are clicked, the malicious code is transmitted. On the other hand, pop-up banners are also used through which malicious payloads get onto the visitor's computer via download.

Malvertisements can infect thousands and thousands of computers, which are then used for criminal purposes, such as calculating Bitcoins.
