low-voltage positive emitter-coupled logic (LVPECL)

Low-Voltage Positive Emitter Coupled Logic (LVPECL) is a power-optimized version of PECL technology, Positive Emitter Coupled Logic (PECL), which operates at only 3.3 V instead of the 5 V supply voltage that PECL requires. LVPECL operates differentially and is used primarily in high-speed circuits in telecommunications, networking and clock signal distribution.
