low profile extended (LPX)

Low Profile Extended (LPX) is a form factor for motherboards

that can be used in particularly flat housings. With LPX, all interfaces are present on the motherboard. In LPX motherboards, the plug-in cards are installed horizontally. LPX boards have a size of 330 mm x 229 mm, in the largest version. LPX and the smaller version Mini-LPX are quite inflexible in terms of expandability. The heat radiation is not suitable for the use of powerful central processing units

(CPU). System boards with LPX form factor have been largely replaced by the much smaller NLX and ATX formats.
