low latency queuing (LLQ)

Low Latency Queuing (LLQ) is an extension of the WFQ method, Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ), to include Priority Queuing( PQ), which works with the Resource Reservation Protocol( RSVP). This method allows data packets belonging to an RSVP reservation to be placed in a priority queue (PQ) to minimize the delay caused by queuing. With LLQ, the highest data rate and the maximum burst size are configurable.

There is an upper limit on the data rate a connection may occupy and a maximum burst size. Connections that meet these parameters are placed in PQ.
