low concentration photovoltaics (LCPV)

Concentrated Photovoltaics(CPV) is a technology used to improve the efficiency of solar cells. This technology, which comes in several forms, concentrates the sunlight falling on the solar cell with lenses, allowing the solar cells to receive many times more sunlight.

Depending on the concentration of light, a distinction is made between Low Concentration Photovoltaics (LCPV), Medium-CPV and High Concentration Photovoltaics( HCPV).

LCPV solar cells are the simplest designs. They operate with a light concentration equivalent to two to one hundred times normal solar irradiance. Since light irradiation also generates heat, LCPV solar cells must also provide passive heat dissipation.
