low-code/no-code (LCNC)

Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC) is an integrated development environment( IDE) on which application programs can be developed in drag-and-drop technique. The Low-Code/No-Code platform is suitable for less experienced program developers who can develop applications quickly on this platform and who do not need to learn a programming language.

In the low- code/no-code platform, the application developer can connect the individual application components to other components in drag-and-drop with the computer mouse. Since the program creation is relatively easy to handle, even people without programming knowledge can create simple application programs.

The advantage of low-code and no-code is the simplicity with which application programs and apps can be created. The user sees the individual application components and assembles them on a graphical user interface. Since application programs can be created quickly, at short notice and at low cost using this method, visual LCNC platforms lend themselves to rapid application development( RAD).

Both platforms, low-code and no-code, use visual modeling, but they differ in the type and scope of the application. For example, no-code platforms are predestined for developing small applications for teamwork, whereas low-code platforms are more scalable and flexible. The platforms are also offered as Platform-as-a-Service( PaaS). This means that users do not have to deal with infrastructure and development environments.
