loop port (L_Port)

With Fibre Channel(FC), the FC ports are identified by the notation Name_Identifier. The various FC ports differ in terms of the range of functions from the protocol on the interface.

A loop port can perform functions and protocols within an arbitrated loop, FC-AL.NL_Ports and FL_Ports are examples of loop ports.
