Long Term Evolution Plus (LTE+) is a technological advancement of the standardized Long Term Evolution
(LTE). LTE+ was developed by Deutsche Telekom and is characterized by a higher data transmission rate. This was increased from 100 Mbit/s
download rate to 150 Mbit/s. In cities where LTE technology operates at 50 Mbit/s, it has been increased to 100 Mbit/s. In order to use the higher data rate of LTE+, the software of the mobile devices must be upgraded. For notebooks and tablet PCs, there are corresponding surf sticks that support LTE+. LTE+ is not an international standard and has nothing to do with the standardized Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A), which will operate at data rates of up to 1 Gbit/s.
