logical link identifier (LLID)

The Logical Link Identifier (LLID) is a 31-bitID number used in mobile networks for a logical link.

The LLID identifier contains the authorization and authentication for the mobile station and is also called Unit ID. It is hardware-dependent and can only be changed by the manufacturer.

LLIDs also exist in passive optical networks( PON). In optical networks, the LLID data field consists of two octets that replace the last two octets of the preamble. It links the operating mode and the identifiers for the logical device group and the logical links.
