local procedure call (LPC)

Local Procedure Call (LPC) is functionally comparable to Remote Procedure Call( RPC). Tasks requested by the client are processed in a subsystem in a client- server constellation. It is a local procedure call for the bidirectional transfer of messages between client and server.

The LPC function is supported by various operating systems, such as Windows NT and later Windows versions.
