load-reduced dual inline memory module (LRDIMM)

LDRIMMs (Load-reduced Dual Inline Memory Modules) are memory latches that can reduce the data load on the memory bus by half or more.

The concept and the associated memory capacities go far beyond those of RDIMMs and reach over 700 GB with dual core processors. In addition, these are low- voltage memories that are operated at 1.35 V and 1.5 V, which helps to reduce power consumption.

LDRIMMs work on all lines with buffers that replace the register and are characterized by a low data load. The address and control signals are stored in the buffers, and the data lines are also buffered in bidirectional drivers. LRDIMMs have a high fan-out, high memory capacity and data speed, which is significantly higher than that of Registered DIMMs( RDIMM).
