little endian

In the case of load and store operations in registers and memories, there are two arrangement systems in which the bytes are read, the endianness: the little-endian format and the big-endian format

.

Big and Little Endian Formats

Big and Little Endian Formats

Unlike Big Endian, Little Endian is a format for transmitting or storing binary data

inwhich the Least Significant Byte (LSB) comes first and is stored at the lowest memory address. For example, the byte E3 of the hexadecimal number 6FE3 is stored in the memory location with the lowest address

in the little-endianformat.

Intel, DEC's VAX, DEC-Alpha, and MIPS chips, among others, operate according to this principle.
