link access procedure for modems (Modem) (LAP M)

Link Access Procedure for Modems(LAP M) is the adaptation of the LAP B protocol commonly used with the HDLCprotocol for bit-serial transmission via modems. LAP-M, ITU RecommendationV.42 specified, is a modem backup protocol for synchronous start-stop transmission and is used in modems with V.32error correction. When two LAP-M modems establish a session, they transmit their data in frames in bit synchronous technique for this purpose.
