lightweight EAP (802.11) (LEAP)

The Lightweight Extensible Authentication Protocol (LEAP) is Cisco's proprietary version of the EAP protocol. The simple LEAP protocol is used for secure authentication ofWLANs according to 802.11. It works with the WEP protocol and uses dynamic keys that are exchanged between the client and the Radius server.

In addition to the standard EAP protocol and the LEAP protocol, there is also the Protected Extensible Authentication Protocol( PEAP), which is supported by Microsoft, Cisco and RSA Security.
