latent fault metric (ASIL) (LFM)

ISO 26262 deals with safety requirementsin motor vehicles. In this context, ISO 26262 specifies the Failures In Time( FIT), the Single Point Fault Metric ( SPFM) and the Latent Fault Metric (LFM).

Like the Single Point Fault Metric (SPFM), the Latent Fault Metric (LFM) specifies the robustness of the system, but with the difference that it deals with faults that could cause a system failure at a later point in time.
