key management center (PKI) (KMC)

The Key Management Center (KMC) is a functional unit of the security infrastructure( PKI) and belongs to the trusted instances of a Trust Center( TC).

The Key Management Center is responsible for generating symmetric and asymmetric keys for authentication, signing and verification. The KMC center archives the keys and also ensures their destruction.
