A jewel box is a Plexiglas cassette for storing compact discs(CDs) and DVDs. This cassette consists of a lower and upper part, whereby the lower part contains a so-called tray, an insert for the locked insertion of the CDs, respectively DVDs.
Inlays with diplay and descriptive texts about the compact disc can be inserted inthe two outer parts. The front is referred to as the cover card, the back as the inlay. Jewel boxes have a size of 142 mm x 125 mm and a thickness of 10.4 mm. They are also available in slimline version with the same dimensions and a thickness of only 5 mm.
