isarithmic

In communication technology, the term isarithmic is used for flow control. The isarithmic principle is a procedure in which only a limited number of data packets may travel in the network

at the same time. Before a data packet is sent out, the sending station must obtain a permission, called a permit. The number of permits is limited. Once a data packet has reached the destination station, the permit is released again for another data packet. Transmission with the Isarithmic method therefore takes more time.
